Another season without silverware and with European Qualification looking
to be a serious doubt...Liverpool fans around the world do not despair.
Houllier was given charge of a team which was too pampered and had lost that
sense of achievement that came with the Liverpool jersey. Many fans cannot
help but compare the current squad with the squad of the glory days.
I can still remember the way Barnes used to weave through defenders and Rush
thumping the ball into the net. Now we have the speed in Owen and the finesse
in Fowler, even though he has lost some of his sharpness due to the long lay off.
even with such a prolific and high scoring strikeforce, we can't seem to bag
any silver. Why?? It does not matter how many goals you score if you let in
goals. The way Liverpool has been leaking in goals this season, I wouldn't be surprised if
they've got a welcome mat between the posts.
I hope Houllier can pull in some quality defenders fast. 'Cause if he fails, next season might see us fighting to stay out of relegation instead of being out of reach from the Premiership chasers as it should be. Houllier if you ever see this article.. PLEASE!!!! get a good defence.
